Caution Full Brain Ahead!

Ugh I have a million thoughts soaring through my brain at any given moment. Ok how about I jot down the craziness that’s been consuming my life:

-I’m constantly dreaming about vampires, blood, injuries and random police chases. My mom blames this to my obsessive reading of The Twilight Books. I tried to disagree but then I realized vampires, blood and injuries are common themes in the books (darn-I hate when she’s right)!

-Hmm let me preface this one with: men are weird (well one man in particular at least)! Let’s just say the hubby and I have been conversing about our first home improvement mission (we discuss this multiple times every day). The hubs thinks our first home improvement mission should be the remolding of the garage! Really?!? This guy is crazy! We just bought a house and need to remodel the garage? So when I asked what needs to be remodeled in the garage, he gave me the most perplexed look that was followed by, “we need to paint, put up chair rail molding, epoxy the floor, insert custom cabinetry to line the perimeter, organize camping gear, build shelves in the above attic space, and that should do it” I respond with, “well I was thinking it would be more beneficial to paint the interior living spaces of the house before we tackle the garage” a rebuttal was quickly formed: “Hun I have two rooms in the house that I’m A-L-L-O-W-E-D to have an input on, come on throw me a bone”. Well there you have it, since I get to decorate E-I-G-H-T whole rooms; I’m throwing the man the above mentioned bone.

-We’re going to Mexico one month after receiving keys to the house.

-Because of the above mentioned Mexico trip, I have found that I need to increase my ab workouts at the gym, thus resulting in the inability to get out of bed without looking like an eighty year old grandmother.

-Hmm…I’m also obsessed with getting a few new items for our vacation. While window shopping (that’s what I tell the hubby I’m doing at the mall) I’ve seen so many must haves for this fun little excursion. Unfortunately, I can’t decide if I want to spend the money on a Juicy Couture beach hat and Tory Burch sandals, or if I would rather save the money and paint the entire first floor of our house. Needless to say, the verdict is still out.

We're having a 'Sweet' Shower!

After my sister planned a wonderful bridal shower for me, I promised her I would "give the best baby shower ever". Well that time has come, and I am in over my head with sweet surprises! I've recruited my mom (most creative/detail orientated lady I know) to help with the planning and special details of the shower! *Side Note: My mom was the wedding planner for our wedding. Everything ended up looking perfect, hence the reason I've ever so kindly recruited her. Anyways, back to the original story at hand... So as the shower date comes closer and closer (February 15th) and as my plate is getting fuller and fuller with work, buying a house, etc. my mom has been very helpful about taking the reins! She is so amazing that she decided to take tomorrow off from work, to allow time to organize the remaining details of the shower. Ah, this is such a relief! I can't wait to see how our ideas will come together for "the best baby shower ever".

Please Pray to the House Gods!

We did it...you know put an offer on a house! I've never been so excited/overwhelmed/stressed in my life! We're already picturing our future home improvements and placing our furniture even though they haven't accepted our offer; are we crazy (well course we are)?!?!

We can definitely picture our family there for years to come. Picture it now, cute little Chihuahua running amok, with hyper, hopeful domesticated wife, flinging orders at husband cuddled on the couch watching the mounted television (I already promised him we could! I know give me wife of the year award). Hmm... this is going to be fun! We just need to add a few blonde bambino's and we're living the dream (well minus the white picket fence, darn, maybe one day)!

Please pray to the House Gods that this is the house for us!!

Sweet Baby Talan

We're so proud to be auntie and uncle to this Sweet, miracle child! He's amazing to say the least!

When my sister's water broke at 24 weeks, she was instantly put on hospital bed rest. She was transported from Evergreen Hospital to Swedish Medical Center the day her water broke (Swedish has a better NICU). She then began to rest, worry, read, research preemies, watch movies, knit, etc for 6 long weeks! Beautiful Talan Chandran was born on December 22nd, 2008 (just shy of hitting the 31 week mark)! Mind you this was during the horrible Seattle Snow Storm 2008! Thanks to uncles BJ's awesome driving skills, we arrived safely at the hospital to witness the miracle that joined our family (two months before his due date)! We still don't know why her water broke so early, but we do know Talan is already a fighter for cookin' in mom's tummy for six weeks!

Last week, Talan was finally released to the outside world! It is so nice to hold him without wires, nurses, monitors, etc!

We're definitely enjoying being Auntie Ali and Uncle BJ!
